The Metropolitan welcomes three new tenants this month. These include, European Wax Center, Removery, and Open Rice.
Open Rice opens their second location at Metropolitan in the former Vivace space. The restaurant features an extensive menu with a heavy Cantonese influence throughout the dishes.
Brown Bag Seafood – South End
Brown Bag Seafood opens today on the ground floor of the Lowe’s Tech Hub.
Founded in 2014 in Downtown Chicago, the fast-casual Brown Bag Seafood Co. launched their unique concept to the market. The idea was formed from a void in seafood dining for a healthy, quick option that didn’t require white tablecloths.⠀

Congratulations to Crosland Southeast, FCP and Lowes Foods on their new project in Indian Land. The Lowes Foods anchored mixed-use development is located along the desirable Highway 521 corridor in Indian Land, SC.
Darrell Palasciano and Matt Henry are marketing the available outparcels for lease or build-to-suit in front of the 80,000 SF property.
The first phase of development will include over 700 apartments and townhomes with additional commercial and retail planned.
Rockler
Rockler Woodworking & Hardware will be opening a new store in the South Charlotte area and will offer huge lumber outlets, top power tool brands, classes and more!

Yuliya’s Ice Cream
Yuliya’s Ice Cream will be opening their first storefront in Charlotte, NC’s Metropolitan shopping Center. Metropolitan’s central location and wide reach with direct accessibility to the greenway will make this a perfect location for Yuliya’s Ice Cream’s first location.
Yuliya’s Ice Cream will offer dairy and vegan options. Most of the flavors (except those made with outsourced aka “local collab” mix-ins) and waffle cones will be gluten-free.
The couple got their start in the dessert business with a successful ice cream and cookies truck, Cookies with an Accent, in Huntersville.
Flexcar Comes to the Carolinas
A self-service car subscription startup has landed in Charlotte recently opening at 8525 South Boulevard.
Boston-based Flexcar launched in 2021 to provide an alternative to buying or leasing a car. The concept aligns with consumer’s growing fondness of subscription companies. Flexcar offers the flexibility for customer’s to choose their car as well as the length of time they’d like to use it by paying the weekly fee.
