Henry focuses primarily on retail disposition services, retail tenant representation and land sales. He has over 13 years experience representing retailers and developers throughout the Southeast. Henry offers his clients a wealth of experience in both large and small markets throughout the Carolinas.
He began his real estate career in Charlotte with a local land brokerage company. Prior to forming The Providence Group, he worked as a retail broker with Trammell Crow Company in Charlotte. Henry maintains many long-term client relationships including disposition services for Harris Teeter and tenant representation throughout the Carolinas. Henry has recently completed several build-to-suits and other developments for clients within the Carolinas.

Jay joined the brokerage team at The Providence Group early in 2004. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he received a B.S. degree in Business. A native of Virginia, he immediately moved to Charlotte following graduation to begin his career in Commercial Real Estate. Jay’s primary focus is that of Tenant Representation and Landlord Representation. He works with retailers from 1,500 SF - 6,000 SF all across North Carolina.
His market knowledge, in both small and large trade areas across the state, benefits his clients in each transaction. Some of the retailers he has represented include: AT&T, Oreck Home Care, Penn Station Subs, GEICO, Super Suppers and Coastal Federal Credit Union to name a few. Jay also has experience representing Landlords with leasing assignments for power centers, grocery anchored centers, and small neighborhood and community strip centers. National real estate companies, in addition to local and regional developers have contracted Jay for his leasing experience. His commitment and dedication help him succeed at every transaction.

Jennifer Putnam
Jen joined The Providence Group in 2008 after moving to Charlotte from Los Angeles. Jen graduated from Carroll University in Wisconsin with B.S. degrees in Graphic Communication and Commercial Art. After college, she moved to Los Angeles and started her career in commercial real estate marketing at Regency Centers as Regional Marketing manager for the Pacific Region.
Jen has worked with a number of regional and national retailers, developers, landlords and brokers in creating marketing materials, planning marketing events, generating foot traffic and leasing space.
Jen excels at preparing eye-catching marketing materials, gaining visibility for newly vacant spaces, developing strategies to find tenants for hard-to-lease space, planning and staffing events, trade show coordination and more.

Darren Wood

Born in London England, Darren moved to the USA in 1996 after starting his career in commercial retail real estate with Donaldsons in London in 1991. He graduated from South Bank University, London, with a BSC (HONS) in Real Estate Management. Darren joined the Providence Group in 2003 after previously working with Trammell Crow Company and CB Commercial in Charlotte, NC.
Darren’s retail experience includes mall leasing, site selection (Aldi Foods 90+ stores, Home Depot & Discount Tire Co.), disposition services (Home Depot & Circuit City) and project leasing. Darren is currently involved in advising clients in NC, SC, GA, MD, IA, IL and MN in various capacities.

Bringing 20 years of Commercial brokerage experience, Malcolm joined The Providence Group as partner in 2002 after five years with Trammell Crow Company in Charlotte as Senior Vice President. He is a native Charlottean and a graduate of North Carolina State University where he received his BA in Business. His commercial experience includes site selection for national, regional and local retailers, disposition of surplus property, and site selection advisory services.
His seasoned knowledge and extensive market understanding have proved to be a tremendous benefit to his clients. With The Providence Group, Malcolm is involved in retail and commercial brokerage throughout the southeast.

Bryan joined the brokerage team at The Providence Group in 2007. After graduating from The McCallie School, Bryan attended the University of Virginia where he received a B.A. in Economics. Prior to his career in real estate, Bryan was Director of Operations at Circular Logic, a loyalty marketing company based in Charlotte with a focus on retail.
Bryan specializes in landlord representation for retail clients throughout the Carolinas. He has worked with National Real Estate Investments Trusts as well as Regional and Local landlords and developers. Bryan has been involved in a wide variety of properties including power centers, grocery anchored centers, neighborhood centers, and freestanding buildings. Thurman joined the brokerage team at The Providence Group in 2010. A native North Carolinian, Thurman is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a B.A. in Journalism. He also earned a master’s degree at the University of Georgia
Thurman’s primary focus is Landlord Representation. He has over 11 years experience in real estate brokerage, development and financing in Charlotte. Prior to joining the Providence Group, Thurman worked at Myers Park Mortgage and served as Director of Leasing for Faison & Associates, handling the marketing of shop space, junior anchor space and outparcels for their Carolinas and Virginia developments and shopping centers, including third party accounts. Past third party clients included Kimco, Inland, Crescent Resources and Lennar Partners. His extensive sales background prior to and including his real estate career have proved valuable to his clients. Thurman’s proactive and outgoing approach in pursuing new tenants is his strong suit. His project assignments have included power centers, grocery-anchored centers, neighborhood strip centers and specialty shops. His anchor/junior anchor experience included transactions with Wal- Mart, Harris Teeter, Marshall’s, Ulta, Gold’s Gym, Big Lots, Hamrick’s and Fred’s.
